The Anti-Corruption International Vigilance Council works towards promoting transparency, accountability, integrity, ethical governance and responsible civic participation.

Our activities focus on public awareness, legal literacy, preventive vigilance, citizen guidance, research, documentation, community engagement and policy advocacy, within the framework of applicable law.

1. ANTI-CORRUPTION AWARENESS

Creating Awareness Against Corruption

We conduct awareness initiatives to help citizens understand corruption-related issues, ethical governance, transparency and accountability.

The Trust Deed specifically provides for creating citizen awareness regarding major anti-corruption and transparency-related legislation.

We seek to conduct workshops and training programmes to educate citizens about lawful mechanisms available to them.

Our awareness programmes may include:

Complaints before vigilance authorities

The objective is to help citizens understand the proper procedures and channels available under law.

3. CITIZEN GUIDANCE & COMPLAINT FACILITATION

Helping Citizens Approach the Right Authority

We provide guidance to citizens regarding lawful mechanisms for approaching competent statutory authorities in corruption-related matters.

Where appropriate, assistance may include guidance in preparing:

Structured complaints
Affidavits
Supporting documentation
Evidence summaries
Representations

Such assistance is intended for submission before the appropriate competent authority.

The Council does not conduct investigations or exercise police, arrest or quasi-judicial powers.

4. STATUTORY AUTHORITY AWARENESS

Connecting Citizens With Competent Authorities

We educate citizens about appropriate statutory bodies and lawful channels that may be relevant to corruption-related grievances.

Where a matter requires statutory investigation or legal action, the concerned person may be guided towards the appropriate competent authority.

Where necessary and legally sustainable, the Trust Deed provides for supporting or initiating Public Interest Litigations (PIL) concerning matters affecting public integrity and governance.

Any such initiative remains subject to applicable law and appropriate legal procedures.

OUR ROLE

The Anti-Corruption International Vigilance Council operates as a non-political and non-partisan organisation.

The Trust Deed specifically states that the Trust shall not support or oppose any political party and that its income and funds shall be applied towards the objectives of the Trust.

IMPORTANT CLARIFICATION

We Are Not an Investigative or Enforcement Authority

The Anti-Corruption International Vigilance Council does not exercise:

Police powers
Arrest powers
Investigative powers
Adjudicatory authority

Our role is focused on awareness, education, guidance, facilitation, preventive vigilance, research, documentation and other lawful activities within the objectives of the Trust.

Matters requiring statutory investigation, prosecution or adjudication remain within the jurisdiction of the appropriate legally constituted authorities.
